Sex Offender Treatment

Serenity Counseling & Resource Center, Inc.’s intensive outpatient Sex Offender Treatment Program utilizes evidence-based practice strategies and is designed to provide age-appropriate clinical assessments and treatment to juveniles (male and female age 12 to 17) who have been adjudicated of a sexual offense, court-ordered to be evaluated, and/or court-ordered to participate in treatment.  Prior to participating in the Sex Offender Treatment Program, the juvenile must participate in a comprehensive sex offender specific evaluation which will be conducted by a licensed clinician with a specialty certification as a Clinically Certified Sex Offender Treatment Specialist who also assists with planning and monitoring treatment provisions.

Serenity Counseling & Resource Center, Inc. has experience administering sex offender specific clinical testing, screening, evaluations, and outpatient treatment to juveniles at the request of legal guardians, managed care organizations, probation officers, court officials, residential treatment facilities, social workers, etc.

Clinical testing, screening, treatment, and relapse prevention/aftercare safety plans are determined on a case-by-case basis.

Sexual Reactive & Trauma Treatment

Serenity Counseling & Resource Center, Inc.’s outpatient Sexual Reactive & Trauma Treatment Program provides individualized clinical treatment to youth/adolescents (male and female age 8 to 17) with sexual inappropriate/sexual harm/sexual aggressive/sexual acting out behaviors but have not been adjudicated for a sexual offense. Staff are trained in trauma-informed care to ensure quality and appropriate services are provided to youth/adolescents participating in the program. Prior to receiving services, the youth/adolescent must participate in a clinical evaluation conducted by a trauma-focused licensed clinician with specialty certifications as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Clinically Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist who also assists with overseeing treatment provisions. Evidence-based practice strategies and clinical interventions are implemented to assist the youth/adolescent to recognize and address sexualized behaviors, cope with the youth/adolescent’s own trauma, redirect/eliminate inappropriate thoughts and actions, prevent victimization and/or deter re-victimization, understand risk factors of engaging in sexualized acts, and develop coping skills to self-regulate/control sexual reactive behaviors.
